Collect Recyclable Materials To Raise Funds For A Rainy Day

About Me
Why Do We Recycle?

Hello, my name’s Mark Lindon. I have to admit that I wasn't always the “greenest” person. I was even known to take a risk and litter once in awhile. However, I started to study the effects of waste on our environment and energy, and I was appalled. I found myself reading and absorbing as much information as I could on the subject. Where I live, recycling isn't a requirement. This makes me mad; it should be a requirement everywhere! I sat my wife and three children down and talked about the importance of recycling. I explained that if we spread the word, we would make a difference in the world. My kids were particularly excited about this concept. Along with their friends, they started encouraging people to have separate bins for their recycle goods. I’m going to share more about this for you.

Earn money by selling recycling materials that can be made into other products. Rent a dumpster from a recycling center and fill it with the materials that you would like to part with. The following ideas will help you increase the amount of recyclables that you collect so that you receive a large payout when they are collected. Use the money that you raise to treat yourself to a fancy dinner at a restaurant or an enjoyable shopping experience at one of your favorite stores.

Organize A Trash Cleanup Event

Organize a trash cleanup event that covers various parts of the town that you live in. Ask some of your closest friends if they would like to assist you. Provide plenty of trash bags and gloves for each participant to use. Instruct each person to separate household trash from items that can be recycled. Rent or borrow a vehicle that has a flatbed trailer attached to it. Place the full bags on top of the flatbed.

Transport the trash to the local dump. Sort through the recyclable items and place them in the dumpster if they are made out of materials that the recycling center accepts.

Hold A Recycling Drive

Advertise online or in a local newspaper that you are going to be accepting unwanted items that can be recycled. Set up some bins in your yard for people to place the items in. Designate one or two days for the event to take place so that you do not have a constant stream of traffic in your yard. After the items are dropped off, inspect them to make sure that they are going to be materials that the recycling center will pay for.

Hold additional drives throughout the year if you profit from the first one. Many people will be eager to get rid of unwanted clutter around their home or business and will be grateful for your assistance.

Pick Up Items From Friends And Family

Tell your friends and family members that you are collecting recyclable materials and offer them the convenience of not having to lift a finger in order to get rid of what they no longer need. Set aside a time to pick up items from them. Upon your arrival, have each person point out the items that they no longer need. Load them all up and promise to return if they have more recyclable materials in the future that they would like to get rid of.

If each person is satisfied with this arrangement, you may be able to acquire recyclable materials from them on a regular basis.

Once the dumpster is filled with recyclable materials, contact the recycling center and set up a time to have it picked up. After the center like East Central Sanitation & Recycling sorts and weighs the items that you are selling, you will be presented with the money that you have earned.
